Woo hoo! eCrater off to a roaring start in 2012 …

So I log into my email this AM and what’s one of the first messages I
see from 2012 … AN ORDER FROM MY eCRATER STORE!

# Order No: 1993187
# Order Date: 2012-01-01/07:04:01

# Ship to:
[snipped]

#Seller: kenbarrnumis
#New York NY Havens Hatter 10c discount check early merchant token
1840s: 1 x $12.00 = $12.00
#Sales Tax: $0.00
#Shipping: $0.00 (Regular US-Mainland)
#Total: $12.00
#Payment via: Paypal

I’m stunned … I almost forgot I even HAD an eCrater store, the
detritus of an old a.m.o.e Great Experiment.

Actually, that’s not quite true … I had a whopping $162 in sales from
my eCrater store during 2011, which would have been the equivalent of “a
terrible month” on eBay. Added to the $363 in sales in 2010, the $47 in
sales in 2009, the $94 in sales in 2008 and the $100 in sales in 2007,
my almost five-year eCrater career is nearing eight hunnert bucks in
total sales …

I guess I can’t complain though, as this beats the combined results of
all my other experiments … and it doesn’t require any time to maintain
the site!

Top seller discounts

I just realized that, as a top seller, I get 20% discount from FVFs,
which in my case amounts to over $200 per month, and hopefully to more
in the future. Not so bad. I thought, somehow, that top seller
discount was off the listing fees, apparently they have changed
it. 20% off FVF is quite substantial.

Watch out for low DSRs for shipping price knocking you out of Top Seller
Rating. We got knocked out last year going into the holiday selling season
by 5 hundredths of a percent on low DSRs for shipping price. We sell some
big heavy items that are expensive to ship. Complained to eBay about it but
they wouldn’t budge. Everything else was well into the green. To combat
it, we put a bunch of smaller stuff on free shipping and added a bit more
than the average shipping price to the selling price. You get an automatic
5 on DSR for free shipping. And since eBay is now chargeing FVF on shipping
price also, it doesn’t matter if shipping is hidden in the total price.

I hardly ever call since it is so painful to do so and I generally

designed to do (discourage customer service calls).

And every single time, every single one, that I have filled out the

generally is close to my question’s topic, but does not answer the

It seems with tens of thousands of positive feebacks at approximately
99.9997%, representing perhaps 100,000 sales on eBay, they would have
the courtesy to talk to me. But truly eBay does not care. They are
slowly losing my business, for the single reason that it is not worth
the hassle anymore.

WHAT A HEARTWARMING CHRISTMAS STORY . . .

<
Most lawyers, as we all know, are greedy, money-hungry con artists
-- but there ARE exceptions.
<
Every once in awhile, you hear about a lawyer with a heart.
<
One afternoon a lawyer was riding in his limousine when he saw two men
along the roadside eating grass.
<
Puzzled, he ordered his driver to stop and got out to investigate.
<
He asked one man, "Why are you eating grass?"
<
"We don't have any money for food, sir" the poor man replied. "We have
to eat grass."
<
"Well, then, you can come with me to my house and I'll feed you," the
lawyer said.
<
"But sir, I have a wife and two children with me. They're over there,
under that tree."
<
"Bring them along," the lawyer replied.
<
Turning to the other poor man he stated, "You're also welcome to come
with us."
<
The second man, in a pitiful voice, then said, "But sir, I also have
a wife and SIX children with me!"
<
"Bring them all as well," the lawyer replied.
<
They all got into the limousine, crowding the double back seats.
<
Once under way, one of the poor fellows expressed his appreciation to
the lawyer, "Sir, you are too kind. Thank you for taking all of us
with you."

The lawyer replied, "Glad to do it. You'll really love my place.
The grass is almost a foot high."

now he’s not being honest about :

not going after the oil companies, because he wants to decrease dependence on

by keeping the price of gas high

about social security, his payroll tax reduction will make the plan less solvent
and sooner,
but it will give the democrats an opportunity to use that to reform the system,
hopefully to expand the tax to all
income with no caps, and to have means testing for receiving benefits

about the illegal immigration issue, even though it hurts African Americans, he
needs the votes

about not going after the banks and brokers, they still have him by the short

but he’s not going to lie us into a war, let business run rampant and lawless,

or ship dead soldiers home in cardboard boxes, economy class

A scammer approach, kinda like scamming the eBay Mystery shopper con.

The only reform BO want’s is to be king.

BO has supported criminal illegal immigration consistently despite the
fact that the great majority of Americans are appalled by it. His
government has made enforcement of laws selective, with criminals from
other countries having a free reign.

You’ve not read some of my wall posts on FB about the scams he and his
administration have pulled in the banking industry. Massive corruption,
from the bottom to the very top.

He lied us into Afghanistan, and Libya. He’ll continue to work at lies
to get us into Iran. The end result will be more, and more corruption.

BO would rather just leave them where they fell. He is the cause of them
being there, his scam to move Iraq to Afghanistan shows his true colors:
a big, massive fraud!

I won’t comment on his massive spending on exotic vacations every few
weeks for him and Mooshelle.

If he hasn’t paid for it, you don’t ship. If he leaves a neg, even if
unreasonable, whatever. Measure your life by something more important
than eBay feedback!!!! Who cares, really…..you can’t stop jerks, so
don’t let them control your life by giving them a thought.

On Dec 22, 11:22=A0pm, “Matteo Marcus” he

Some pretty good advice and options here from Ignoramus and rjn…and
Don (I think he said plainly don’t ship without being paid). Just
wait, or let the buyer know what’s going on (and gently remind him
that he’s had plenty of time). I also like the one about asking a
friend to mail it, although that may be more trouble than an
unreasonably slow payer deserves. Don’t worry about a neg; it should
NEVER factor into doing the right thing, or letting a buyer intimidate
you.

Ignore the “positive feedback then ship” advice, it isn’t from a
serious poster. Apologies that you have to read that.
